On my way up to my village in Lebanon we passed through a major town in the north called Tripoli. This city is not to be mistaken with tripoli Libya. The city, once a gorgeous city, is now surrounded by hill sides of slum housing. Leaving the city, the last thing you see are the hillside urban developments, standing as close to each other as possible. Run down and old, some are could even be considered classic. These are the slums of Northern Lebanon.

This is what happens when the government ignores us for around 40 yrs. let them enjoy ruling only Beirut Cuz Tripoli is Ours!
:iconbeachday:
Lol, I'm sure there are slums in Beirut as well. Remember, Israel got bored one summer and decided they wanted to go bombing.

And the Leb Government lacks the funds or resources to properly manage their capital. So I would imagine people have to do what they can in Tripoli.

I wonder what things woulda been like if the French were still in power (not saying that would be beter, just wondering)
